January, 2009 With the start of the New Year we will be implementing some changes. To give our students the Advantage of National Ranking we will be requiring all of our students to register with Shoshin Ryu. The fee is $25.00 per year, we have membership applications available or you can register online at www.Shoshinryu.com. Effective January 1st, 2009 we will be charging a Belt Promotion Fee of $20.00 for all ranks under Sankyu, 3rd Degree Brown Belt. Our Brown Belt Promotion fee will be $25.00 and our Black Belt Testing Promotion Fee will be $50.00. All rank promotions will include a Belt and a National Ranking Certificate. To provide a more rounded instruction level we will be offering a variety of clinics and tournaments for our students to participate in. Our 2009 Schedule of Events is posted on our bulletin board. We also have opted to begin a Competition Jujitsu Team. These individuals will be competing in our local tournaments, they will also be travelling to a select number of tournaments, and they will be performing in demonstrations. They will be receiving a special patch, for their gis and will have the option of purchasing a team jacket. They will be practicing and training in a designated class, in addition to their regular Jujitsu Class. We will be talking more about our New Competition Jujitsu Team. The first event our New Competition Team will participate in is an AJJF Jujitsu Kata Contest on February 21, 2009 in Sacramento. We will be also in the near future we will be having a parent meeting the date and time will be announced shortly. And lastly Robertson Photography will be coming again this year to photograph our students. We will set up the date within the next few days and a signup sheet will become available.
